A growing self-storage business with eight locations across the South West needed a website that could handle multiple locations, drive local enquiries, and compete with the big national chains. We used our Small Business Website template to build something that does exactly that, without the five-figure price tag.
Giant Storage started as a single yard of shipping containers in Salisbury. The founder, Henry, is an ex-jet pilot who was flying the Saudi Royal family around until his son was born and he decided on a different career. He did a tonne of research, read the E-Myth, and knew he needed to get the foundations right from day one.
When he came to us, the business had a handful of locations and an old website that wasn’t doing much.
The thing is, self-storage is a fiercely local business. People search for “self storage near me” or “storage units Salisbury.” If your website doesn’t show up for those searches, you’re invisible. And the big chains, Big Yellow, Safestore, they spend millions on their digital presence.
Henry needed something that could compete on quality without competing on budget.
Giant Storage is a family-run self-storage business with eight locations across Wiltshire and Somerset: Salisbury (two sites), Amesbury, Yeovil, Frome, Warminster, Crewkerne, and a newest addition.
They use genuine steel shipping containers rather than the plasterboard partitions you get at the indoor facilities. 24/7 access, CCTV, gated yards. No hidden fees. No long-term contracts.
What makes them different is the straight-talking approach. Pricing starts from £115/month, and the price you see is the price you pay. That ethos needed to come through in the website. Not flashy. Not corporate. Just honest and easy to use.
We needed a site that could scale as new locations opened, without rebuilding the whole thing each time.
The brief was clear. Giant Storage needed individual location pages that ranked locally, a simple way for customers to understand pricing and unit sizes, and a site that felt trustworthy from the first visit.
Using our Small Business Website template, we built out a structure that handles all of this cleanly:
For a multi-location business like Giant Storage, generic “self storage” pages aren’t enough. Google rewards specificity. So we created dedicated pages for each location and each use case.
“Self storage Salisbury” is a very different search from “business storage Yeovil.” We treated each one as its own landing page, with locally relevant content, customer reviews from that specific site, and schema markup that tells Google exactly what’s on offer.
Our Small Business Website template made this scalable. The page structure is repeatable, so when Giant Storage opens a new location, we can spin up a fully optimised page in hours rather than days. Same quality. Same SEO foundations.
Fraction of the effort.
A self-storage blog might not sound thrilling. But it’s doing serious work behind the scenes.
We set up a content strategy targeting the questions people actually ask before they book a storage unit. Things like “how much storage do I need for a 3-bed house?” and “can I store a car in a shipping container?”
These are real searches with commercial intent, and every answer is a chance to bring someone onto the site.
The blog feeds directly into the local SEO strategy. Each post is structured for AI citability too, with direct answers in the opening paragraph, question-based headings, and FAQPage schema where it makes sense.
Our Small Business Website template comes with the content foundations already in place. For Giant Storage, we extended this with:
Google Business Profile integration across all eight locations, ensuring NAP consistency (that’s Name, Address, Phone number) is spot on. Sounds basic, but inconsistent business listings are one of the most common reasons local businesses don’t rank.
Review generation workflows that encourage customers to leave Google reviews at the right moment in their journey, not when they’re moving boxes in the rain.
Automated sitemap and schema management so as new pages and locations are added, the technical SEO stays clean without manual intervention.
The thing is, most small business websites break when the business grows. Ours are built to grow with you.
Our Small Business Website template is built specifically for businesses like Giant Storage. Companies that need a professional online presence, want to be found locally, and don’t want to spend months and tens of thousands on a bespoke build.
